Claribel first started studying the art of Middle Eastern belly dance in 1982. Since then she has been learning under American, Canadian, German and Egyptian teachers in Hong Kong, New York and Cairo.

Before coming to Singapore, she has been a member of a performing troupe specializing in Middle Eastern dance shows in Hong Kong for 8 years. Here in Singapore, she has been devoting her time and energy in promoting this form of dance since 1996 through teaching and performing, training performers and organizing special belly dance workshops by world famous Egyptian master dance instructors such as Yousry Sharif, Raqia Hassan, Aida Nour and Dr. Mo Geddawi. She also organizes group tour for her students to go to Egypt to attend the yearly Cairo Oriental Dance Festival. She now runs her own belly dance studio, Claribel's Raks Sharki Studio, besides teaching at different locations all over Singapore.


Mohammed Ali

Mr. Ali learned music in Faunad El-Roel Institute, graduating in 1968. He worked as a master for a music team called El Sheroch and worked with great Egyptian singers as a Nay player. He composed for Egyptian and Arabic singers as well as, for dancers such as Hendya, Amani,Nami, Kloud, Soher Said, & Rehab. Contact information for Mr. Ali: Tel: 5615778
