Shashank Mehendale is a talented musician and this comes as no surprise since he hails from a family of musicians. He has been playing the tabla for over 15 years now, under the tutelage of Pt. Sadanand Naimpalli and later, Pt. Suresh Talwalkar. He was initiated into vocal music by his sister, Shubhangi Sakhalkar, herself a noted vocalist and a professional Hindustani Classical Singer residing in San Jose, California. He is now undergoing training in Hindustani Light Classical from his guru, Shri Mohinderjit Singh. A graduate in Science & a management student, he has worked for over 10 years in the IT industry (in India & USA) as a Resourcing Manager. Presently he is working at KReSIT, IIT Bombay. He is inspired by composers like R. D. Burman and Madan Mohan. His favourite singers are Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi. This album "Tumse Hai Pyar" contains original songs written and composed by Shashank which he has sung along with Swapnil Bandodkar. Ashish Dwiwedi has arranged the music. The songs in this album are very melodious, rythmic, and romantic. The lyrics are simple and express the emotions from lovers' hearts with grace and elegance.
