Seeing the need for Belly Dance music minus percussion, Scott Wilson master oudist/singer has recorded a collection of some of the most popular dance music in a show format, for drummers of all levels to learn, practice to, or to perform with. Also included are samples of the more unusual rhythms used in Mid-East music, from Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Armenia, and Israel. Scott Wilson, ASCAP, born in NYC, is the son of the famous Mid-East Dancer "Serena." He grew up immersed in the very best of the music of Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Armenia, and Israel brought over from the Mid-East to the NY club scene during the '40's, '50's, and '60's. Scott Wilson, and his group "Efendi" perform every Sunday night at the famous "Le Cafe Figaro" on the corner of Bleecker & McDougal streets in NYC. Scott has performed in Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey, and has been on the "Hulya Avsar Show," TGRT, channel 7, and the Turkish Embassies in NYC, and Mexico City. The "Baglama Hydra," the unique triple-neck instrument pictured on the back cover, was invented and created by Scott. It combines the Turkish saz, Greek bouzoukie, and Arabic oud, enabling him to play all three instruments at one time, during his unique performances. Other performers on this CD include Ray Nabba on Kanun, George Stathos on Clarinet, and Jim Nordstrom on Bass. Track List: 1. Shatty Ya Dinny 2. Ereve Shel Shoshanim 3. Habibi Ya Aini 4.
