"Ishwara Prasad" (Translation: Divine Gift) Featuring James Austin Gates on Vocals, Harmonium, Keyboards, Bass,Percussion, Mandolin, Octave Mandolin, Guitar, Sitar, with Larry Anderson on Tabla. "I composed these Sanskrit lyrics by deriving them from ancient scriptures and fitting them to my original music. Some of the songs are original "namavalis" or names of God in Sanskrit. Everything was composed on harmonium, but a full ensemble of Eastern & Western instrumentation was used where appropriate. A highlight is the rich lyrical harmonies sung in the traditional call & response bhajan style. The music is a crossover between Western 'New Age' and East Indian traditional forms. Proceeds benefit Mata Amritanandamayi (Ammachi's) humanitarian activities.
