Jacob Balshan is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who has performed all over the world. Jacob's original compositions draw from all his experiences in life, with many poetic references. He broadens the concept of contemporary Israeli music for most listeners. His music and lyrics are influenced by the sounds and rhythms of the many cultures to which he has been exposed. In June of 2000,and again in 2004, Jacob traveled to Israel to record two Cd's with his nephew, Guy Bocati, one of Israel's finest young guitarists: "Love Songs in Hebrew", and "If I Were a Bird". The former won a nomination in the categories of Best Album and Best Song -"Habididut" ("Loneliness") of 2004 from Just Plain Folks, an international organization of independent music professionals. He performed all the vocals, played guitar accompaniment on the first album, and wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and performed vocals for both albums. He has composed the lyrics and music for over 120 songs. He is a member of ACUM, an Israeli professional organization which protects the rights of musicians. This CD is accompanied by a 12 page booklet with the original Hebrew lyrics and English translations side-by-side. Check out the artist's website: http://cdbaby.com/balshan Track List: 1.
