ADJO is a singer, songwriter and recording artist, whose music draws from her roots in Ghana, West Africa, where she was born and raised, and Europe and the U.S. where she has lived for the past 17 years. Her music embraces various styles, including Ghanaian high-life, jazz, rock and reggae, and her lyrics are tightly woven around a message of unconditional love. She plays and composes on programmable keyboards. She recorded her first album in 1991 and her most recent album titled "LOVED" was released in 2006. Adjo Amekudzi is also a painter. Her abstract art pieces are inspired by music and life. Her "Soul Collection," in soft pastels, depicts stories of life through music, with pieces such as "Germination," "New Horizons," "Open Hands," and "Perennial Friendship." The Soul Collection was publicly exhibited for the first time at the Ferst Center for the Arts in Atlanta in April 2005. Adjo Amekudzi is a civil engineer by profession. She earned her bachelor's degree from Stanford University and her graduate degrees from Florida International University and Carnegie Mellon University. She is an Associate Professor at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, where she has been a member of the faculty since 1999. Track List: 1.
