Tim Tatum is an inspirational and challenging artist who is dedicated to developing the essence within the music he creates. As a songwriter in very aspect of the word, his experience and talent bring a powerfully create influence over all aspects of his music and have won him the praise of critics. Wind and Wire says: “His music reminds you of earlier releases from Narada Keyboard artists, or you may find yourself comparing Tim to Chris Spheeris or even Yanni (at his best). Spyderbites writes: His music brings together musical styles from across the world: It flows from soft meandering orchestral-like movements, which sweep and swirl with ethnic rhythms, to hard pounding African drums, and Liquid Magazine says: “It is refreshing to have a local artist compose on such a scale”

Tim has spent his entire career in the music business performing, studying, and composing. Although he finds his first love in the composing and performing of his music, he is also involved in the production and engineering side. He feels this has given him the complete knowledge of his art. He is also the owner of T- Rex Select Music and D-Recording Studios, a multi track state of the art recording studio. His studio was voted the “studio musicians most like to record in” in the year 2000. T-Rex Select Music is the publishing company for Tim's extensive music library, which is marketed and sold throughout the world. Tim's compositions have provided the music for such productions as: The Miss Tanzania Pageant TV special in 2001, The American Cancer Society's corporate video's, and a 2002 PBS special about three men on an African Safari, along with many television commercials.

Tim's current CD “Music and the World, Edition II” has seen frequent radio play in key US markets, including Denver, San Francisco, Dallas, and New York, along with major radio markets in Australia. Tim continues to hone his skills in all areas of music by staying on the cutting edge in technology, and in technique. He will tell you he loves to write music with a concept in mind. “My greatest strengths are in channeling energy into the mood of that concept.”

Having grown up in the heart of the Midwest, Indiana Tim reflects a soft spoken Midwestern charm. In addition to being a musician Tim has been an artist, a hair dresser, a painter, and an engineer. He spent his early music years playing guitar in a regional rock band, and traveling extensively with this band. He says even then he yearned to expand his musical knowledge and involvement in the music world. He only records what he has composed, and now currently catalogs hundreds of pieces of music. He says it is the task of being able to effectively blend various musical styles from around the world that is exciting and challenging.

“ Do you have more tracks you can send us of Tim's music? People love it here!” ~Robert Chalmers, Quantum Radio, Brisbane Australia

Look for Tim in the future as he continues his “Music and the World” series and watch for his upcoming release with Ben Ngoma from Malawi as they create a dynamic album of indigenous music to that country.
