Following the success of it’s debut album “Vol. 1†that received the Album Of The Month award by BBC’s Charlie Gillett and had the tune “Rumbero†included in Charlie’s annual compilation of the best from 2004 – “The Sound Of The World 2004†Dead Combo released the second album “Vol. 2 – Quando a Alma Não é Pequenaâ€. The new album takes its title from Fernando Pessoa’s poem “Mensagemâ€. Deeply rooted in the Portuguese tradition and at the same time open to influences from all over the world, this new album shows us that the group has developed a musical language that is original and unique. The elements that first come out of the music by the duo are the obvious connections to their homeland and its music but also traces of Africa and America as heard on “O Assobio (Canção do Avô)†or “Mr. Eastwoodâ€.
