Matthew Weginka has lived his life with music as a musician, songwriter and entertainer. He began developing his musical talents at age fourteen when he took piano lessons. Four years later, Matt tackled the accordion. He played saxophone in the highschool band. When he entere the U.S. Army in 1941, he spent most of his 45 months of service playing the clarinet and flutein the band. When Matt returned home from the service, he organized a seven-piece dance band, called Matt and His Royl Blackhawks. The performed in and around the Detroit area for various entertainment functions for a number of years. Matt has composed over 280 songs. Most of hi songs are of the dance genre. He has written fox trot, waltz, latin, polka, and march. Many of his themes are humorous, political, religious and novelty. Matt lives with his wife carrie and enjoys visiting with his six children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He also is active in his local church. Luke A Wegienka is a musician and educator who enjoys playing the saxophone, clarinet, and trumpet. Luke began taking sax lessons at the age of twelve. He continued playing saxophone and added the clarinet in his highschool orchestra. While serving in the U.S. Navy Hospital Corp during world war 2, he organized a twelve-pice dance band called The Yosemite Swingsters. Luke majored in bassoon when he played in the Eastern Michigan University band and orchestra. In 1948, after receing a bachelor of science degree in music, he taught band, orchestra and glee club for the next eleven years. he left to pursue administrative positions, but always kept close to his music by performing at different functions on the weekends with Matt and His Royal Blackhawks. Luke is still active playing his saxophone, clarinet, and trumpet in a local three-pice dance band and enjoying everyminute of it.
