Detour Posse is without a doubt the hottest band on the LA scene. These dynamic & talented individuals came together about 10 years ago seeking to create a new breed of Reggae music. Since then, they've been working very hard and inspiring each other to create a melodic blend of roots, dancehall, lover's rock, ska, R&B and funk that is sweet enough to soothe the soul, hard enough to move the feet, and always guaranteed to rock the crowd. The Detour Posse consistently gets their crowd up, excited & dancing. Be sure to check out the debut, independently produced CD from the Detour Posse, it's called - "Chariots in the Sky"

Detour Posse has risen up the ranks of the Los Angeles club scene to become one of the most sought after acts in California. While the band features top musicians from around the globe, they share one common vision that is evident in the positivness and universality of their music. The members are all seasoned session musicians, having honed their skills while playing for such Reggae greats as U-Roy, Eek-a-mouse, Sugar Minot, Pato Banton, Shinehead, Wailing Souls and countless others. They have toured the West Coast extensively spending much of their time playing alongside international recording artists such as Ziggy Marley, Third World, Luciano, Lucky Dube and many more. Locally, they have also established themselves as a top notch backing band by performing for many touring solo artists including: Barrington Levy, Warior King, Sean Paul, Mr Vegas, Lady Saw, Red Rat and Half Pint.

Detour Posse has become a top draw at many major concert venues as well as universities. By special invitation, Detour Posse appeared at sold out performances by Grammy Award winning Reggae sensations Black Uhuru and Steel Pulse. They were also invited to perform for L.A. radio stations 100.3 The Beat, 106.7 KROQ, and KJLH. Their music can presently be heard on The Beat, Groove Radio and KROQ. Collectively they have performed for huge crowds at events such as Bob Marley Day at the Long Beach Arena, U.C.L.A. Jazz/Reggae Festival, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Reggae on The River, Taste of the World at the Anaheim Stadium, Earth Day Celebration at Balboa Park and many House of Blues events. They were also specially chosen to play at the Galaxy soccer team's opening ceremonies at the Rose Bowl. Individually, they have performed throughout Jamaica, Europe, the Far East and Scandinavia. With a live show that is described as "intensely charismatic", the band is being touted as "Reggae's New Lions." So get ready, take aim and feel this fire.

Look out for a solo project, from lead singer, Dakeye in 2004.
