Seattle's Black Cat Orchestra has played for bars, weddings, silent films and cafes since 1991. They perform old pop songs from the Mediterranean, Eastern Europe and Asia and elsewhere, with a dreamy and cinematic feel.

Mysteries Explained, the Black Cat Orchestra's second album, takes a sweeping look at life's pleasures and treacheries. It includes songs from Argentina, Turkey, Brazil, a 16th century liturgical work, a Yiddish tango, and a Kurt Weill song. It also features several original pieces that were written for live silent film soundtracks.
