Kyna Kyles was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. After graduating from Morgan Park High School she left the friendly confines of the “Wild 100’s†for Murfreesboro, TN, home of Middle Tennessee State University. At MTSU she obtained a degree in Recording Industry Management with an emphasis in Music Business. Always the consummate writer, Kyna wrote her first spoken word piece as an 18 year old college freshman. After returning home for the summer and sharing the stage at the then red-hot night spot The Clique/E2 with Malik Yusef and J. Ivy, Kyna discovered that others shared and delighted in the art of spoken word. With the mentoring of both Malik and J.
