The Sax Maniacs are a four piece band that perform regularly around the Detroit area playing classic rock, funk, soul, oldies and new covers from current artists. Our style is a cross of beatnik type super-cool SAX numbers like Peter Gun, Honky Tonk and Summertime to classic rock and Motown hits like Chain of Fools, Shotgun and lots of James Brown. We incorporate the swinging sound of the SAX with a jumping rhythm section and Stevie Ray/Jimmi Hendrix type guitar provided by local guitar hero, Steve Dansby. Jon Martin, a BLUE ROSE alumni, provides incredible bottom drive that helps Joe Bruglio on the TAMA drums bring the beat to new heights of excitement.
