While using a large group of live musicians to recreate the classic sound of soul, they also look to unconventional sources to put a unique spin on a familiar style. Eyan quit his job in his hometown of Boston and moved to New York to pursue his dream of making a career of music. When he arrived in the city, he'd never written a song or had any formal vocal training, and he spent his first few years getting to know his way around a recording studio, making demo tapes, and taking voice lessons. In the spring of 2000, while sitting on a beach in Rio de Janeiro at night watching the stars, Eyan got the inspiration for a song that would eventually become the sixth track on "Sounds of Music," the first full-length album from The Truth. In the spring of that same year, Eyan began reaching out to some of the most talented musicians he knew--some old friends and some new acquaintances--to put his band together. The band, originally known as "Milestone," had its first performance at The Bitter End in New York in August of 2000. Since then, Eyan and The Truth have attracted a large, diverse, and incredibly dedicated fan base, and they play regularly in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C. The band went back to the site of its first show to release "Sounds of Music" to a sold-out crowd on November 10th of 2001. Check out the artist's website: http://www.eyanonline.com Track List: 1.
