Abu is a music genius that utilizes harmonic dialoges between various instruments that tells an overall story. His songs, though instrumental, displays solos that are melodic vocally inspired. The polyrhythms and percussions shows his African and Spanish roots, along with a Gospel and Jazz flavor. The many colors and shapes in his music causes the listener to feel a certain depthness and multi-layered picture. The genius quality of Abu is his diversity in presenting a message that can be understood. Abu attended the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee, and was a private student of Tony King and Milton Mieritz. He was trained in Classical and Jazz and plays the piano,saxophones,flute,and percussion. He has performed in many bands, and has a beautiful singing voice.
