Avery D. Hollingsworth started rapping at the age of 15 with his brother who took on the performing name of Scoob-Luva and mutual friend, stage name, Battleship. The three used to leave each other taped recordings of free styles in between work and school; eventually the three formed a group, in which they called themselves "The Wraith".

In 1994 Tank relocated to Xenia, Ohio and it would be that same year that "The Wraith's" first single album would be released. The single was such a success that it gave birth to an entire record label called Big Daddy Sounds Records, Inc.

Tank and Battleship teamed up on the labels first single, the single was controversially titled "Psychos Domain". The single was then featured on a compilation album called It's In My Nature.

Due to the success of the album and single and the part in which" The Wraiths" played in it, they were asked to perform throughout the city, and this turned into tour dates in cities such as Cleveland, Ohio,

Zanesville, Ohio, Atlanta, Georgia, Biloxi, Mississippi, Mobile, Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana, St. Louis, Missouri and Omaha, Nebraska.

During the tour" The Wraiths" produced and performed the It's In My Nature- Remix and this would be the single to set the tone for tanks unique flavor of rap, not the hardcore style that he had been accustomed to doing.

By 1999 Tank had took part in over one-hundred stage shows and concerts, in fact, he had performed a song called' Hell Riders' which required him to mteract with the crowd by growling and the people couldn't believe that it was him performing the song.

The Hell Rider song was then featured on Big Daddy Sounds Records, Inc. Underground Street C.D. titled - Good in Da Hood in early 2000, this C.D. was later nominated for a Grammy Award, for the best new underground compilation.

In spite of all the success that Tank was experiencing with his label, he was not satisfied. In a 6 year time period, he had yet to record one solo track, he and Battleship wanted different things, and after a while agreed to part ways, both yearning for solo success.

In late 2002, Tank was introduced to the President of M.O.B. Inc. Records and was quickly signed to the label after a freestyle session in which he ripped the mic.

Tank says "I'm happy with the decision I've made to become a part of M.O.B. Inc., I feel a sense of victory and appreciation, they let me use my true skills as a rapper." Just this year Tank collaborated with label mates 2 A.M. and Jameztown on the' Body- Remix' and now he is focused on his solo project where he plans to put a whole lot of feeling and emotion into it, Tank plans on doing BIG things in the future.

Look out for' The Tank!
