"JC"

Most people just listen to music while others are born into it. Jeffery “JC” Charles was more like home-grown into it. JC, a product of a musically blessed household, has waited patiently for his time to unleash his unique sound to the world. After almost 10 years of soaking up the music industry game, JC is now ready to make his mark.

At the age of 2, JC fell in love with the drums and has been playing them ever since. Later, his mother introduced him to the piano which he continues to play today. JC has always progressed with the time of music indulging in many of Hip-Hop and R&B’s finest. With additional influences by musical greats such as Sly and the Family Stone, Donnie Hathaway, Earth Wind & Fire and guidance from Timothy Christian Riley, of the Grammy Award winning group Toni, Tony, Tone – JC began to compose music on his own.

JC created Innovative Productions in the summer of 1998 after finishing high school. He borrowed equipment and studio space and through time, he began to cultivate his own direction in music. Continuing music education at local community college and later investing in his own equipment, he began to create records on his own. By 2002, he placed some beats on independent albums including Duecie Nickels’ debut album “Blessed But Stressed”. In 2003, he began developing his catalog of music which ranged in styles and genres. In 2005, JC co-inspired SacFam Entertainment (sacfam.com), the marketing vehicle and management for his production company. Since then, JC has finished his own album “The Purple,” and is also involved in numerous projects for artists throughout the region.

JC’s debut album, “The Purple” was created to showcase his production talents and to also promote the other artists associated with Innovative Productions & SacFam Entertainment. Now, with his own album out, and several more in the workings, JC has planted his feet in the game and has begun his long stay in the music business.
