JAS Joseph Antonio Smith is a solo artist from Saint Petersburg, Florida. He was born on Christmas Day in Salsberry, Maryland and has been performing since the age of twelve. JAS has traveled around the country, singing background and playing the drums, with gospel groups such as: The Gospel Volunteers, Williams Brothers and the Jackson Southerners. Church and school have always played a large part in his life and he has performed in many local and school talent showcases. JAS has been inspired by the likes of Al Green, Nat King Cole, and many more. Drawing from all the wonderful talent back in the day as well as the talent from this new day and age, JAS has discovered and created his own style. Song writing has become his passion as well as his hobby. This passion has led him to put together his current compact disc, including songs that he wrote and arranged himself. JAS' goal is to have an impact on the music industry by combining old school sounds with new tunes and mixing in a splash of jazz to create a sound that is uniquely his own. JAS is an exciting and talented artist performing under the Twins Records Label, a label created and managed by the twins, Antonio and Rayfel Welch from the group FANTA-C.
