The Cameo story is well-known to fans all over the world. Coming out of New York City in the '70's, and following in the funky footsteps of George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Cameo forged they're own path and over the years created hit after hit of some of the most innovative and exciting music ever heard.
Tomi Jenkins is the co-founder, co-lead vocalist and one of the main songwriters of that legendary group. His vocals and songwriting talents can be heard on the number one songs, "Word up!", "Candy", and "Single Life", among many others. With his new collection, "The Way", Tomi explores the crazy, complex issues of life and love. He says, "For the most part, I like to let the songs tell the story, rather than try to explain what they mean. I named this CD "The Way" because I believe we are all searching for a way, or path, to happiness and fulfillment. And that path is usually found through the experience of love. Of one person for another, or of a more higher, spiritual nature.
My journey with Cameo, and of being a central part of one of the funkiest, most original groups ever, is still ongoing. Hopefully, this CD will be reflective of my growth as an artist.
I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest thanks to all of our fans who supported us over these many years and made it possible for us to sustain a living doing what God has blessed us to do. We will remain eternally grateful. Now, I hope you enjoy my humble effort to tell some stories my way. I didn't do this alone, so I want to thank all of the wonderfully creative people who were an essential part of this project."

Blessings.
