Singer Songwriter Sakai has known the power of music for her entire life. A Bay Area native, her artistry as a vocalist and songwriter has been influenced by a number of timeless artists. Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight and Chaka Khan have all impacted her appreciation and development of her own voice as a singer. As a songwriter, Sakai has been influenced by the songwriters who have penned lasting tunes as well as contemporary writers who push the envelope of today's music. These writers include Ashford and Simpson, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Babyface, and Diane Warren. Sakai has had extensive recording experience, having appeared on recordings with Celion Dion, Steve Winwood, and Aretha Franklin. She has worked with platinum selling and Grammy Award Winning producers, Narada Michael Walden and Walter Afanasieff. Sakai has performed live with Tremaine Hawkins, Angela Bofill, and Narada Michael Walden. She has appeared on the internationally televised VH-1 Awards with Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Stevie Winwood, and Chaka Khan. Sakai has teamed up with Family Tree Productions to produce her self-released LP, "It Ain't No Miracle." The album includes a variety of songs and musical styles from contemporary to classic.
