Jimmy's first group was The Sparks Of Rhythm: 'Hurry Home' and 'Don't Love You Anymore', composed by Jimmy, and 'Big Mouth Woman' ('Woman, Woman, Woman') and 'Stars In Sky'. He then formed and recorded with The Sparks Of Rhythm for Apollo Records, They only had two tracks: when I recorded 'Handy Man' Jimmy formed a group called the Savoys, which had 'Say You're Mine', 'You' and 'With All My Heart' and a couple of other things wrote by Jimmy Jimmy went to George Goldner, and.sang a couple of things he had composed, 'I've Got To Have You Baby', 'Lover'. He liked them and as a result he was soon recording with George Goldner and Morris Levy at Rama Records. It was there that his group was known as The Pretenders. Handy Man', was a hit first by Jimmy in America and then it hit again with James Taylor. Boy George, was sued for the 'come-a, come-a', from the song. It also went into the Top Ten in England twice with Jimmy! Jimmy also recorded The Shag which was used in a sound track for a movie and is featured each year at The Shag. The golden age of Rock & Roll was a momentous time for the R&B tenor. Jimmy "Handyman" Jones was certainly a leader among those who achieved national success in the U.S. during the British Invasion. The legendary Jimmy Jones has to his credit a multi- platinum recording such as 'Timin' and 'Handyman' he is recognized as one of the greatest singers of all-time.
