Some voices make a person want to sing along,some calm you,some make you stop to hear lyrics and some just make you feel good. B-yond has all this and more. B-yond is a vocal/r&b group from Pittsburgh. Once you hear them, you'll think to yourself-they sound familiar. They should-the group collaborated with the urban jazz group-TJ and the Band. As a matter of fact,the CD is written and produced by one of the founding members of the band. The word 'love' is used quite frequently thoughout the CD - Get to you. This project is meant to bring back some soulful love/hate relationship ballads, funky dance tracks and no rap.'Get to you''s 13 tracks are straight-up r&b/soul. Most of the tracks tell stories that have you waiting for the next lyric like your reading a poem. "What part of love" talks of relationships fading while "I love you" talks about reassuring any doubt of a man's love for his woman. "Love is all you need" sings familiar lyrics of an everyday quest for love. B-yond is made up of four guys with a distinctive harmonious sound backed with a smooth mix of cool keyboards, soul bass, horns, and foot tapping drums. The group also can bring the funk -pfunk style. Check out "Bring back the funk"and"Playa hater". Overall,a great effort to bring r&b/soul back to the forefront in an electronic/rap music radio world.
