The "A Sign Of The Times" (A.S.O.T.T.) Band was established in 1999 by trombonist and composer Tyrone Jefferson (music director for the Godfather of Soul, JAMES BROWN "off-and-on" from 1981 to 2000). Ascension is the band's first ALL-Original-Music CD. ASOTT (and by extension the "Ascension" CD) specializes in three genres of music: (1) Swing Music (in the spirit of the Great Big Bands from the Swing Era like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Fletcher Henderson); (2) Classic Rhythm and Blues (Ã la James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and Earth Wind & Fire); and (3) World Music from the African Diaspora.
