Andrea Tatum Andrea Tatum is an anointed, dynamic vocalist whose desire is to uplift your spirit with her unmistakable voice. She is the only child of Elouise and the late James Terrell. As a young child growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was always aware of God's anointing on her life. At the age of three Andrea sang her first solo in church and remembers listening to a variety of artist such as the Rev. James Cleveland, Shirley Caesar, Aretha Franklin and the late great Ray Charles. Listening to these great artists inspired her passion and appreciation of music. Throughout high school Andrea received professional vocal training and sang in various local and regional vocal competitions with much success. She sang in church choir and was actively involved with the youth ministry. Her senior year in high school she was the second runner-up in Charlotte's Most Talented Teen Contest and was the lead vocalist in the play "Purlie" sponsored by the Charlotte Rotary Club. However, her senior year also proved to be a major turning point in her life, due to the death of her great-grandmother whom she loved dearly. This great loss impelled Andrea to pursue a career in Nursing. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Andrea is not only a Registered Nurse; she is also an ordained minister and has a Master of Divinity from Drew University School of Theology. Andrea feels it is God's plan and purpose for her to bless people through the ministry song and the spoken word. She aspires to touch and change the lives of those who listen to her as she ministers from her heart. Andrea has performed in numerous gospel concerts in several churches in the New Jersey and New York area. Andrea made her professional debut at the Beacon Theatre on April 30, 2004 where she opened the show with gospel inspirations for the legendary Jerry Butler. She performed at the Annual Gospel Extravaganza in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey and is currently scheduled to perform at Brooklyn Academy of Music on December 19, 2004.
