person 1: say man, went w/ your advice over the wknd, drained some Belgi Brews and went as real as television. it would be great to sit down and have a few more with you and go blow x blow through the prarie, but a few highlights for the mundy mornin shift: 'let her rip', the bass was perfect!...i liked the ~ jaggerich jigsaw puzzle of po boy and the good guitar licks to send me on down the line... interesting sound (was it the mic job?) on sunlight.. dusty keyboards standout - actually the keys all over this record provide interesting textures. the 40 Oz. Blues sandpaper sounds behind the singing and a great wild west ride off in the sunset - one of my favorites for sure... as real as tv - you been listening to burroughs? had some of that feel to me, good .... Blues for Red was also a standout.. and Jangles Went West had some biscuit and gravy nashvilly pickin on there. fine brody man and thanks for the latest! ...so i'm up in the roost, listening to 40 oz blues.. and @ ~ 0:35, the chorus, sounds like charlie watts on sandpaper - or maybe charlie watts brushing a snare - either way it's good stuff and still the wild west ride into the sunset is delivering... that's how it strikes me anyway... ...say man, up in the roost again and listening to As Real as TV. really enjoying it. i'm hearing it in a new vein tonight, owing to the fact that it's Monday and I don't have the Big Belgi's singing in the corner I reckon. At any rate, I think you've got a lot to hang your hat on with this one and I'm already looking forward to the next. ---------------------------------------------------------- Person 2: My favorites are Letter Rip ... P Boy, 40 oz Blues, Nina, Three or Four Faces, 10,000 Nights, Blues for Red and Jangles went West Letter Rip extremely catchy ... I also like the way the lyrics flow around and through the music ... 40oz Blues ... love the line "My pocketbook is empty but I've got my buzz ... and the drum beat is really cool .. it, at times, has a little radioheadesque feel to it .. Nina ... I like the way the intro takes you around the bend and down the dirt road behind the mountain before, it takes you down mainstreet ... really cool riff in this one ... Three or Four Faces ... might be my favorite for a couple of reasons .. first: it's title is rivaled only by Cotton Candy Kindness ... it would sound silly to say it's its own thing because so many of the songs on the album fall into that category .. but it really is ... Like a couple of the other tracks, it has kind of a Beckish feel to it ... 10,000 Nights ... this would make a nice soundtrack to a stalker movie of some sort ... I really like how it turned out ... I also like Blues for Red .. has elements that kind of remind me of the P-Dog Classic ... "The Phonecall" Jangles Went West .. like the teapot and really like the guitar on this one .. I like the fact that most all of the songs have such a unique mix of flavors ... that's how it reminds of Beck I guess ... In saying that I don't mean it copies Beck, but is like Beck in that it is its own thing ... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Person 3: Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
