"Her poems take a humorous look at sex and love," --Ryan Davis, Daily Hampshire Review. Aimee Herman walks up to the microphone, red hair flying off her face in untamed curls. Announces that she's going to read her poetry in a slightly uncommanding voice. You don't know what to expect. Yet part of you leans in a little closer. Her small lips part and she begins to speak about cheesecake which makes a lactose-intolerant-sufferer yearn for an entire plate full. She describes a ride on a motorcycle in such a way that afterwards, your hair is wind-blown. She weaves together food and sex in clever ways. (Just listen to--Within the Curve of the Spoon). Just be careful.....by the end of the CD, you may find yourself craving a cigarette, WISH you still had that Catholic schoolgirls uniform, and had hair in the shape of a giant, untamable afro. Currently, you can find Aimee at random open mics in CT, NJ, MA, NY.....and maybe in a town near you (if you let her know of one). Her chapbooks: tastes like cheesecake (Butcher Shop Press)and if these thighs could talk (RoseWater Publications) can be purchased through emailing her at writerslashpoet@aol.com.
