A native of California, Beryl Clemens Smith and his wife, Sue , live in the foothills of the Sierras. A university graduate and extensive post graduate education, the author has worked as a university instructor, a construction engineer, and an ordained Presbyterian minister. Now semi-retired, he enjoys water color and oil painting, hunting, fishing, photography, and further exploring his longtime interest in poetry as a Distinguished Member of the International Society of Poets. Although always interested in nature and the arts, Beryl kept his hands in the construction industry. His construction and engineering bent would take him into heavy industrial construction, Nuclear Quality Assurance and winters above the Arctic Circle working in the oil fields of North Slope, Alaska. He later worked as a Project Manager in the fields of telecommunications and hospital construction. Today he serves as a Vice President with a large nonprofit corporation building hospitals and orphanages in emerging nations around the globe.
