Barbara Ann Derksen began to write seriously about 8 years ago. Since then, she has had over 2500 of her articles published as well as a murder mystery titled Mind Trap, and a household management guide Dance With a Broom. Mind Trap was chosen by Iowa's Business and Professional Women as their selection for 2005. She is currently completing the first of the Wilton Strait murder mystery series titled With Warped Certainty. About two years ago, Barbara Ann began a series of six children's books surrounding the program to reintroduce Trumpeter Swans into the Iowa landscape. This series has evolved into three CDs with two stories on each. The stories depict the progression of baby Trumpeter Swans (cygnets) from hatching to migration educating children about their natural predators and their eating habits in an easy to listen to format designed for children from age 2 on up. The stories have been endorsed by the Executive Director of the Cherokee County Conservation Department in Iowa as factual but fun to listen to.
