All Genres > Rock > Ska > THE SKELETONES: The Skeletones

With a sound that resonates with energy of rock and punk, the caribbean "riddims" of reggae, ska, and dancehall, as well as the rythmic appeal of funk, hip-hop and soul, The Skeletones deliver a fusion of sound that is as diverse as their Southern California roots. It is with tis distinction that they have commanded stage performances on 3 continents for nearly 20 years.

Drawing their earliest influences from artists like Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Specials, The English Beat, and The Selecter, one could try to identify their genre as SKA, but that wouldn't be an entiely fair assesment of The Skeletones present verve.

Formed in 1986 by Paul "Prince Skeletone" Hampton, The Skeletones have honed their craft by playing alongside rock icons like Fishbone, No Doubt, Sublime, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Bad Religion, The Skatalities, 311 and countless others.

Originally perfectly comfortable being deemed a SKA band by fans and critics alike, The Skeletones latest material promises to provide an insight into the deepest core of their vast pool of seeming unrelated influences.

The direct result is a professional act that has already become an influential force in the music industry, and one that continues to influence new generations of like-minded rockers in the process.
