BLACKLUNG GARAGE ORCHESTRA stirs up layers of drum, bass, guitar, organ, electric piano, melodica, and synth noise with tape delays, stomp boxes, numerous percussion instruments, and occasional vocals into a thick, beat-heavy stew boiling over with erie melody and deep sonic texture- mixing the older dub/reggae styles of King Tubby, Scratch Perry & Augustus Pablo with the newer experimental rock of Radiohead, Sonic Youth, and Mogwai. BLACKLUNG GARAGE ORCHESTRA was formed in the year 2000 and is the brain child of Long Beach, California multi-intumentalist and studio scientist TRAVIS LAWS who plays almost everything on this album. This music throbs, thumps, and bumps and brings together a spooky dub-soundtrack utilizing equal parts of precision and randomness. BLACKLUNG GARAGE ORCHESTRA currently performs at various venues around southern California. Live, TRAVIS plays bass/guitar/baritone guitar and is accompanied by brother BRANDON LAWS on drums/percussion/sampler and a rotating cast of guitarists, horn players, keyboardists, percussionists, etc. BLACKLUNG GARAGE ORCHESTRA is constantly composing and recording new material.
