The music of the Rick Lawndale Band is a unique hybrid of surf music, rockabilly and psychedelic rock. Currently, music from the Surfabilly Rock CD can be heard on The Real World- San Diego- on MTV. By way of background group founder and composer Rick Lawndale gained some renown in the 80's as a member of psychedelic surf unit Lawndale. Lawndale released two lps on the SST label and was also featured on the Lovedolls Superstars soundtrack with other artists such as Redd Kross and Black Flag. Lawndale toured nationally as well as in Mexico and Canada. The Rick Lawndale Band also features lead guitarist Ricky Sepulveda (Nervous Gender, The Ray Pettibone Experience), drummer Dave Rodriguez (The Surf Raiders, The Sultans of Surf ) and bassist Marcel Loera.
