"...makes Flogging Molly look like a bunch of nancy boys..." PADDY ROCK RADIO "Thoroughly irresistible, ass-kicking Irish rockers..." MARGARET MOSER, AUSTIN CHRONICLE "Fear not the snarling singer, he's a very nice man." SARA CRESS, HOUSTON CHRONICLE Howyez, we're BLAGGARDS, purveyors of stout Irish rock. For nearly two years we’ve been tearing up venues across Texas, and now we’re taking our act across state lines (check http:blaggards.com/shows/ for show dates). In 2005 we released our debut CD, STANDARDS, which has garnered rave reviews and was rated the #2 Celtic Rock and Punk CD of 2005 by Paddy Rock Radio. “STANDARDS is aptly named yet downplays their wonderfully exuberant, irreverent approach to well-known tunes,†says Margaret Moser of the Austin Chronicle. “Thoroughly irresistible, the Houston quartet joins the ranks of kilt-wearing, ass-kicking Irish rockers willing to cross genres to get their point across. Ten tunes leave the listener dying for more, like a pint of Guinness that's been shorted with too much foam.†John Bowles of Paddy Rock Radio says "Patrick Devlin's growling vocals and grinding guitar, Brian Vogel's crashing and smashing on the drums, Chad Smalley's great vocal harmony and bass work, and some of the best damn violin playing I've heard on an independent release from Turi Hoiseth, just compliment each other tremendously." And yeah, we have a laugh or two while we’re at it. BLAGGARDS were formed in July 2004 by Dublin-raised Patrick Devlin (guitar and lead vocals), Minnesotan Turi Hoiseth (violin and screaming), New Yorker Chad Smalley (bass and lead vocals) and Bostonian Brian Vogel (drums and backing vocals) Contrary to ancient Blaggards lore, there is no "the" in our name. Just "Blaggards." We also take our coffee black, thank you. Check out the artist's website: http://blaggards.com Track List: 1. Drunken Sailor 2. Bog Songs 3. Big Strong Man [Yakety Sax] 4.
