MORE ELABORATION
CHAMPAIGN, IL-The concept of Triple Whip is based on simplicity. The trio only works with the basic rudiments in music, emphasizing driving bass and heavy drum rhythm with minimalist guitar and vocals. Holly Rushakoff starts off most songs, playing aggressive and uncompromising bass lines filled with slides and hammer-ons. Brett Sanderson's creative and intricate drumming amplifies the intensity. He's got rigorous beats and pounds through inventive rolls and fills. Santanu Rahman's sparse guitar work includes deceivingly complex jazz chords, with no effects at all. No pedals, no distortion, no alternate tunings. And his lyrics are inspired by more than a few overlooked films. Intensity through simplicity: Triple Whip's drums and bass step forward to be the focus of their unique sound.

On September 30, 2003, Triple Whip's debut full-length SLAPSHOT (IWR-006) will be released on Innocent Words Records. The first recording of Triple Whip was released in January 2003: Bare Boned (IWR-003), a three-song EP.
