Formed in the desert oasis town of Albuquerque New Mexico in 1997 they are here to revitalize the corpse of rock and roll and save it from the boredom of "alternative music". The Sleestaks are a boozed up, punk rock and roll band tearing up stages With a unique blend of punk, country, garage rock, metal and old school Rock n Roll keeping rock fun the way it is supposed to be.
The Sleestaks have played clubs and events all around New Mexico opening for national acts such as Welt, Leadfoot, Camel Toe, Dixie Witch, Weedeater, The Burden Bros. and other Real Rawkin bands when touring through Albuquerque. After recording several releases in their home studio Osmosis the Sleestaks went into local John Wagner studios and recorded Nobody Rides For Free in 2001. In 2004 the Sleestaks have completed their second full-length recording in their home studio titled Belly Up!

With the comeback of Rock N Roll, the Sleestaks have gained new respect being invited to compete with 45 of New Mexico's best Band in the NM showcase in 2003. The Sleestaks were also invited to feature there a song on Shuteye Records Buzzlighter compilation series. So you can be assured if there is beer, power outlets, and people thirsty for a good time the Sleestaks are near.
