SIMON CHAINSAW… Australian by birth and firmly rooted in the Australian Rock meets Punk tradition…. His roots draw on (among others) punks SAINT’S, RADIO BIRDMAN mixed with early AC/DC and ROSE TATTOO. TOLD ME A LIE was recorded in Simon’s adopted homeland BRAZIL, and mixed in GERMANY. While definitely a PUNKRAWK’N’ROLL record, this discs nods to modern sounds like FOO FIGHTERS and WILDHEARTS but all the time maintaining true to roots like SOCIAL DISTORTION, MOTORHEAD, SAINTS, TSOL & early AC/DC. The Hippy Killers belongs to that particular garage rock’n’roll punk rock sound updated and made real again by Radio Birdman back in the late 70s and recently modernised by bands like Turbonegro and Hellacopters.
