Shockwave: (noun) 1. Blast; 2. A compressional wave formed whenver the speed of a body or fluid relative to a medium exceeds that of which the medium can trasnmit sound; 3. A violent often pulsating disturbance or reaction (i.e. shockwaves of rebellion).

Since forming in the Fall of 2000, Shockwave has quickly made their presence known. Shockwave has won over fans around New England and the world with their aggressive and memorable songs and always energetic, intense live performances. Combining influences ranging from the energy and passion of old school punk, the prominent guitars of metal, and the unique rhythms of industrial, with memorable and thought provoking lyrics-Shockwave has carved their own niche with their "punk-metal" sound.

Shockwave released their 3rd CD, "Manifesto" in December 2002 which was called "highly anticipated" by Soundcheck Magazine. The CD features the band's new vocalist, Rudy Best, who joined the band in the Summer 2002.

In the past 6 months, Shockwave has recieved considerable airplay on major area radio stations and has opened up for several national acts including such bands as Nonpoint, Dope, Blindside, and LA Guns. The band has also received praise for their prior CD "Nihilistic Humanists" from several national act artists, and filmed a conceptual music video with award winning director Daryl Silva in the Spring of 2002.

Shockwave's music addresses the ills of society and talks about a change, self-proclaiming to be "metal for a new society." This claim is not that they are merely making the soundtrack to this new society, but for the active process of creating it. Spreading the Shockwaves of rebellion, one song at a time...
