There is something to be said for great songs. There is nothing like listening to a kick-ass Rock N Roll song or Pop tune. Hoppers13 offers you just that! They have devoted themselves to writing songs that you cannot help but to like and delivering them in a way that is just irresistable. Gigging steadily since 1995, the band first formed as a collective of 4 Philadelphia based musicians. The initial project was to simply just rock and have fun! Hoppers13 quickly made its way through the Philadelphia scene and their fan base grew. Their individual style of melodic pop and in-your-face rock and roll makes for an energetic and engaging live show. It's the kind of energy that will not allow you to stand still. It commands your attention. Their unstoppable knack for ripping a live set has been finely tuned through countless gigs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City and Boston over the past 5+ years. Latest CD by Hoppers13 Features Four New Songs and Reinvents an Old Chestnut Philadelphia, PA - There's nothing like driving in a hot car: the top down, the wind whipping through your hair, a supermodel at your side and some great music drowning out the noise of the world. Music so driving, so fun, that it takes you out of yourself as your foot pushes down on the accelerator until you realize you missed your exit and even that doesn't bother you. You just get to listen a while longer. OK, so most of us will probably never own a hot convertible (no matter how you use the word "hot") or even meet a supermodel, much less cruise with one, but that great music... that's easy to find. That's what you'll find on Ultrapop, the new CD by Hoppers13. Don't be deceived by the name. Ultrapop is not the sugary stuff by the teen sensation of the second, nor is it the brooding, monotonous mess by the rock band of the moment. You know that band - it sounds just like the serious rock band of the minute before. Nooo. Rather, Ultrapop's five tracks keep you moving with its guitars and catchy hooks. In short, it doesn't take itself too seriously, but it never makes you feel like you should be snapping bubble gum and twirling your hair. Produced by Philly rock veteran Scott Bricklin and mastered by Brian Bricklin, Ultrapop features four new recordings and reinvents an old favorite. The new songs "Talk Too Much," "Living on Mars" and "I'm Alright Jack" span the reliable and ever-confusing ground of relationships, while "The Spins" takes on the business of public relations from an inside view. Then there's the old standby, Tom Jones' classis "She's A Lady." Once you hear how Hoppers13 tears into this one, with all due respect (after all, no one throws panties at us), Tom's version might just sound a little... boring. Ultrapop is Hoppers13's third CD and the band's first with the Bricklins and Ultrapop represents another step in Hoppers13's continued musical evolution. The band's previous two releases, Hoppers13, and Superstock, moved quickly, and Ultrapop is in high demand among the group's faithful.
