"The music is so skewed and unusual that I find myself surprised when she pulls out something as conventional as a bow to play the chorus. Alone on stage she relies on the expert use of a series of delay pedals to fill the space, capturing live loops which she then accompanies to create dissonant but full bodied harmonies. The chattering audience is hushed after a few bars and spellbound by the end of the first song. It would be lazy of me to compare this to P J Harvey circa 'Man-Size Sextet' but I'm going to anyway because it's the only thing in my record collection that bears any resemblance to this unique and beautiful performance." Kid Isosceles These were mostly 1st takes with my loop pedal, cello and vocals. I used the backwards effect,the octave leap and a delay (all on one pedal) There's lots of improvisation.
