A Polynesian/Chinese Kiwi, born and educated in a small suburb of South Auckland (Papakura), New Zealand. In 1995, he'd gotten married and left his beloved country for a backpacker's life around the world with a jumping-off point from Wisconsin, U.S.A. Japan (2001): a few gigs here and there around central Tokyo (namely British and Irish bars) performing covers of western favorites by Oasis, Beatles, U2, Radiohead and Coldplay in a solo acoustic format. Eventually, the progressive development of an unorthodox guitar style in his live performances attracts a small following among young Tokyoites and foreign residents alike. In 2004, still in the spirit of a wandering lifestyle, he and his wife move to the island of Guam and there he makes the transition from cover musician to indie singer/songwriter making primitive D.I.Y recordings at home. MODI OPERANDI: Homemade low-production recordings of original alt-pop/rock songs using only an acoustic guitar, vocals and a cheap digital recorder. All sounds aside from vocals and digital percussion are derived from an acoustic guitar run through standard effects that came with the recorder. The bass sounds are the E and A strings EQ'd. Anyway, as with the last album, the overall theme of this collection of songs are commentary and perhaps a little cliche'd. But given the current state of affairs, maybe it's best to start from the beginning...
