Drummer Andy Bonura and guitarist Tanner Bean are the founders of the band known as Vestige. The pair of musicians also grew up together in Oklahoma City, and have been jamming together intermittently since they were teenagers.

In the summer of 2001, Andy and Tanner began writing the music and drawing the blueprints that would years later become the foundation of their debut E.P. "Anodyne". During this time they also started a long and frustrating search to find other musicians to complete their band. They created a website and recorded an instrumental demo to better facilitate the search, but always found it difficult to find others that matched their passion and musical vision. After over 2 years of jamming and a countless number of auditions later, they had grown restless. They decided to take their show on the road and moved to Los Angeles in October of 2003 seeking new opportunities, new challenges, and new experiences.

Only weeks later, Andy and Tanner met Jonathan Liber, a musician who had been making a living in the entertainment industry since he was a teenager and had been in the bands Twerp and The 3rd. A friendship and respect grew between the three and in January of 2004, the long sought after member was officially found. Jonathan joined Vestige as the singer, lyricist, and bassist. Approximately a month later, the band played their first show at Boardners in Hollywood. They continued to perform around the Los Angeles area for the next couple months and played such reputable clubs as the Whisky A Go-Go, The Knitting Factory, Club Lingerie, and Bar Sinister. In June of 2004 Vestige released Anodyne on the indie label Fraction Records.

Vestige was scheduled to record their first full length album with Sylvia Massy, producer of Tool and System of a Down, in December of 04 and January of 05, but Vestige ended in October.
