The Vanities have self-released three records since forming in southern Monmouth County nearly five years ago, but “Coma Kiss,†the full-length offering the group is set to release next month, makes the road from 2001 to the present feel like a prelude. On the 10-song disc, the band nails the sound it’s been concocting for years, an intoxicating mix of pounding, guitar-driven rock and more angular, experimental fare. Where the punk-inspired refrains of The Vanities’ early records were framed with off-kilter time signatures or laced with bizarre sound-portraits, “Coma Kiss†is a more tightly wound and focused beast. In a perfect world, this would consume your radio dial. Check out the artist's website: http://www.thevanities.net Track List: 1. Keeps Me Coming Back 2. Tilt 3. Coma Kiss 4. Uncle Meat 5.
