Upsilon Acrux call themselves a "maximist" band, an apt description of this emerging San Diego group. Their music shows the inspiration of classic prog-rockers Magma and King Crimson as well as out jazz innovators Ornette Coleman and Albert Ayler. Having expanded the membership to a five-piece, Upsilon Acrux continue to develop their uncompromising sound. Previous memorable shows have included various Southern California engagements sharing bills with Devin Sarno and Nels Cline , Fred Frith and Chris Cutler, The Boredoms and The Ruins.
