Scraping for Change is the newest rock sensation to hit the bay area. The boys of Scraping for Change hail from Chicago, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Northern California. They all met while attending Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA. The band originated in June 2003 when Sterling Selover and Anthony Andrade began writing and recording demo tracks. The duo found themselves scraping for change to buy fast food and gas all summer long, hence the name. The first song that they recorded was called "Black and White" and it became an instant favorite at their local college. The band grew with the addition of musicians and song writers, Manny Gonzalez and Chris Lovero who played a large part in shaping the style of the band. After an extensive search for the perfect drummer with a unique edge, the boys called their old friend and comrade Joe Szulkowski, who took a semester off of Arizona State to come and jam with vocalist Anthony, bass player Manny and guitarists Sterling and Chris.

Scraping for Change released their first official three song demo CD in April 2004.

Scraping for Change completed their first album August 2004.
