DON'T MISS THE EXPLORATION PROJECT LIVE ON JUNE 17, 2006 AT SMASH RECORDING STUDIOS IN NYC. CHECK OUT THE EXPLORATION PROJECT WEBSITE AT..EXPLORATIONPROJ.COM FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS EVENT.

This is the second cd of The Exploration Project titled Visions and Abstractions. It features Scott M. Rifkin on Guitars, Bass and Keyboard/Syntheiser and Jeff H. Shurdut on lead Guitars. The music on this cd was recorded in the heart of New York City. I decided that on this cd I would attempt to convert some of the politcal, social and economic issues of our time into various musical forms. We did a little of this in our first cd Impossible Beauty-Towards The Normal Edge. Within the music, there are clues to indicate various emotions and perspectives. The titles of the tracks as well as the cover art can also serve to help the listener. My objective in all this music is to show the many sides of various issues in our world today: not to pick a side and say which is correct! I'll keep my personal opinions out of this! So, I hope you will take the time to really listen to my music. I feel it is rich in sophistication and intellectuality; There is more to the music than the notes, sounds, chords. Our music is spontaneous, improvisational, based on feel and chemistry, unwritten, unrehearsed and contains almost no post production editing. this is the whole idea behind The Exploration Project.
Additionally, we are working on a new double cd set. It will feature our new member Larry Corban on guitars as well as myself. A review of Visons and Abstractions and Impossible Beauty/Beyond the Normal Edge is out in the June issue of 20th Century Guitar magazine. The review is a rave. The Exploration Project is a huge storm of power. Again, I can be reached at Explorationproj@aol.com We will have our new website launched soon- www.explorationproj.com All the music of The Exploration Project is spontaneous, none written down and none rehearsed!
