The Long Poets Sessions is a disc of works by the Long Poets: Jim Miller, Rudy Ising and John Connors. This includes works from three separate sessions, including dark, gothic works (Be My Baby, Green Automobile), pop song gems (Listening to John), and moody ballads reminiscent of Van Morrison (Normal Street). Be My Baby and the Green Automobile are the centerpieces of this disk: long, brooding works featuring gothic rock music as backdrop to a poetic dialog drawn from classic poetry and original sources. By contrast, Listening to John is a thoughtful, gentle pop song, and New York City (In the Bag) and Normal Street are slow piano/vocal ballads that draw the disk to a close. Packaged in a 4-page gatefold cover with inner sleeve, reminiscent of the artistic covers of older LP's, this CD is both a pleasure for the eyes as well as the ears. RECORDING/MASTERING DETAILS: All of these recordings were done at Rising Star Recording in Brea, CA on four track reel to reel, and mastered to half track analog tape. Remastering included carefully restoring the recordings from these original analog masters. Great care has been taken during the remastering process to assure the best quality sound without sacrificing any of the musical elements.
