ECCO

Genre: Alternative (Progressive)
Hometown: New York

Italian for "There it is," Ecco is a progressive musical collective that evokes new wave synth rock, early 70's glam, indie guitar rock, and minimalist electronica. They perform as a quartet consisting of two guitarists, a keyboardist, and a chanteuse who plays the Roland MC 505 Groovebox. The group sprung from the collaboration of composer, Dennis Tirch (aka Ecco Osiris) and producer MRoze. Tirch is a long time practitioner of Tendai Buddhism and experimental rock guitar, who holds a PhD in psychology. Roze is a multi-instrumentalist and electronic music guru, who has worked in engineering material from the likes of Mercury Rev to King Crimson. They are currently featuring their second CD "Tokoyosoul" and working on a third, inspired by global spiritual traditions and entitled "Paroketh 777." Their 1997 release "Sound, Mind and Body" is still available, and features the rhythm section of SPIN magazine's best unsigned band, "The Authority", and the production and instrumental work of Jeff Peretz, guitar virtuoso and author of "Zen and The Art of Guitar." You can check them out in upcoming downtown NYC bookings.
