Formally brought together in late 2003, A Brief Smile is the living product of years of acoustic, electric and electronic tinkering. Beginning in December 2003, the group began to record in a way they hadn't explored before, and thus unofficially started production of their first EP, "The Memory Loss." The new form was marked by more structured songwriting and experimental recording techniques. From the energy-driven "Life Upstairs" to the sleepy electronic "Doesn't Always," the EP demonstrates the band's desire to embrace different styles and accept new ways to make music while maintaining the consistency and continuity of the album. DL Tashjian fronts the band with lead vocals and guitar. Garrett Ensor and Jared O'Connell play lead guitar and keyboards, respectively while Sammy Fayed plays drums. Since the recording of the Memory Loss EP, A Brief Smile has undergone a lineup change with Louie Glaser on drums and Remy Walle on bass. A Brief Smile is in New York writing and preparing a follow-up to The Memory Loss EP. Check out the artist's website: http://www.abriefsmile.com Track List: 1. Count Me Out 2. The Pretty Mess 3.
