22 Down is comprised of 4 dedicated musicians with years of music experience... Mike Broderick, John Savage, Paul Button and Ron Romero. Each musician has been performing and recording for at least 20 years and has been in different line-ups of the current band during those years. The members of 22 Down have true love of music, dedication to this sound, and determination to keep playing, improving, and bringing music to their fans. Mike Broderick offers the powerful vocals to 22 Down and writes or co-writes many of the original songs performed by the band. Mike's sense of humor and stage presence is part of what sets 22 Down apart from other acts. John Savage lends a strong beat to the band, writes and co-writes originals and is one of the areas most incredible drummers. Paul Button adds the colorful chords and blazing guitar leads to the band and also writes or co-writes the original songs. Ron Romero completes the rhythm section with 4 string basses and is one of just a few players that play a 12 string bass. Ron also writes and co-writes the original songs.  The 22 Down Story   If you have ever read the back of the first Boston Album and found it to be a bit confusing with the whole who met who, the where , the what and so on, then you'll get a good idea about the "22 Down Story" . It's pretty similar, as I am sure it is for many bands and artists I suppose.  John met Ron then Ron met Mike then John and Ron had a band with Paul, then Ron and Mike had a band....anyway a very long story made short, here we are today. The Band 22 Down has been together for 3 years now but it's been close to twenty years, through the poppy tunes of the 80's, the hair bands and everything between then and now for these guys. Evolution is what keeps them going with the ability to re-invent themselves as music styles change. What I'm trying to say here, is these guys have played in a lot of bands over the years at lots of clubs and festivals. It was music that brought them together and created a great friendship out of it. The chemistry works because they enjoy what they're doing. Everyone has their own personal tastes in music and it all culminates into the sound and personality that makes up 22 Down. The band and crew have put together a great working machine.
