Two thumbs up." -Alternative Press Fireworks' Darin Lin Wood, has formerly formerly been apart of NYC's Richard Kern's BLACK SNAKES, the pre COP SHOOT COP band DIG DAT HOLE, THE RED DEVILS (4-song EP on CASTING COUCH, 1991), and 68 COMEBACK "Stripped-down, low-tech, unprogressive shit rock" is how a flyer for their first show described them. Fireworks has often since been labelled as rockability, which has become a touchy subject for the band. "We like to spit in the face of rockability." Why? "We don't take stock in fashion. All of the sudden we have these fuckin idiots in Dallas that dress rockability, I'm not into that, it's too unreal. The people who like us are the ones that don't have to have pompadours to enjoy it." Fireworks prefer instead to call their sound, "music for people who like fucked up music." Darin Lin Wood - vocals, guitars James Arthur - guitars Janet Walker - Drums Darin says "When I first started this band, it was just to be hated for it so no one would expect anything too much." One look at Firework's discography and you get the idea that Darin's plan backfired. Since 1993 Fireworks has had over twenty releases, including two full length CD's. Their first full length, "Set the World on Fire" was released on Crypt in 1994. Australia's Au-go-go released Fireworks second full length "Off the Air" in 1996. Fireworks have also released a few dozen singles on labels from all around the world. They have toured the US countless times and done one European tour. If all that didn't keep them busy enough, Darin and Janet also formed Blacktop with former Gories singer Mick Collins. Fireworks most recent release is Lit Up. Lit Up is 13 tracks of new songs as well as a few previously hard to find rarities. Darin Lin Wood is currently "Missing In Action."
