All Genres > Rock > Noise > CHRIS WALKER: JUST BEFORE DAWN EP-CD

The Indie EP- CD JUST BEFORE DAWN is now available! This music is Post Industrial Avant-Garde-Acid/space noise-core rock which is fierce, moving & infectious. It will ignite your mind...This is a soundtrack from a life gone mad...Hear it and see why... Chris "Crystal" Walker recorded this CD in his home town of Detroit, Michigan ...hence gritty urban scenarios are subtle undercurrents in his latest and most accessible work. Yet Walker is able to extract intricate and human segments from seeming chaos to paint a dark portrait of individuals and of the human condition. This music is a statemrent, a reflection and a inter-personal glimpse into very real lives (including Walker's own). Walker has performed on stage with well known musicians including the late Rob Tyner. (Of MC5 fame) though the music this man writes and performs are uniquley his. Chris is a published poet and has been the front man for multiple incarnations of bands throughout Detroit and performance pieces across the midwest. Chris has read and performed on various (daring) public radio stations across the country including those in Detroit, Chicago and Windsor, Ontario. This music speaks to the heart and soul intensely and intimately. It is urgent and finite. This is not happy stuff, yet there is a cathartic, mesmerizing, trance-like quality in the "experience" of this disc. It is empowering. This is rock 'n roll in all its ugly glory, stripped down and naked, high and angry.Themes on this creation are universal: loss, triumph, madness, murder, addiction, loneliness and un requited love in a cold, pre-dawn existence. These songs were crafted by intriguing musicians who do so extremely well: hence the talent of each member rings through on this imperfect EP. This music is fierce and it is a product of Detroit, Michigan though its appeal is Universal!

BIO# 2 (w/lyrics)
This music is avant-garde-industrial-punk-minimalistic-flowing rock.In turns it is furious, despondent, despairing, cruel, hopeful, honest, raw and tender .Chris "Crystal"Walker sounds phenomenal fronting the band presented here. (Think Jim Morrison freaking out!)Mr. Walker began playing music and writing poetry at age 15 in his home town of Detroit, Michigan where he was born and raised. "Crystal"Walker has collaberated and performed with numerous well known musicians including the late Rob Tyner.(Of MC5 fame)Walker is a published poet and this shows throughout by his use of language on this fierce EP disc. Chris has performed on various (daring)public radio stations across the USA and abroad including those in Detroit, Chicago and Windsor, Canada. The musical/poetic/driving realities Mr. Walker and the band paint upon the canvas of silence which we hear on this disc are alarming. This music speaks intensely and intimately in no small part through Walkers urgent crooning which is urgent, flowing and finite. This is not happy stuff, it is very dark... yet there is a cathartic, mesmerizing, trance-like quality in the experience of listening to this disc.It is fun and it is empowering. Themes on this creation are the stuff of legend, the stuff of life and tragedy: loss, triumph, madness, murder, addiction, loneliness and un-requited love in a cold, pre-dawn existence. These movements were created by intriguing musicians who each bring their special talents to the fore front throughout this CD.They do this extremely well. The sincerity of each note and scream comes through on this imperfect, passionate testament. This music is a dis-quieting voice in the dark!Just Before Dawn is a product of Detroit, Michigan.
FADE AWAY Lyrics:
Not by night
Or Christmas Day
My city child Time fades away
To kiss the night
& Praise the day
Far too many young ones
Come her way... but
Where are you now?
In some vacant house
Cigarettes all over the floor
Broken glass/ memories of something more...
You were the one I would have loved
If
I could've controlled my mind
You were the one I would have done...
The devil's
so unkind...
You're an angel
With the face of a devil
A vampire
& those flames rise higher.

Watch you turn blue &
She will save you
She will find you and
She will blind you... & she will...

Life was beginning with
ghosts
From the past!
Travelling time/
remember this rhyme
For years he swam in whiskey pools
Sleep on park benches/
and bar stools
To kiss the night and praise the day
City child: time fades away.

I 'aint black and I 'aint white
Just a product of one too many nights
In front of your TV
So go on and push me, your
Society is
Breeding
Fades Away...
Close the door/ ...Fades Away
On the floor/ ...Fades Away
Space and reason/ ...Fades Away
Memories/memories/memories of your eyes/ ...Fades Away
Fade away.
